In the first three months of 2023, an estimated 235 million tourists traveled internationally, more than doubling the total for that same period in 2022, according to the World Tourism Organization. With international arrivals at 80% of pre-pandemic levels during the same period, tourism appears well on its way to a post-COVID recovery.

They specifically highlight countries based on respondents’ perceptions of them in relation to seven attributes: culturally accessible, fun, friendly, pleasant climate, safe, scenic and unapproachable.
